Life as a Progress consultant by
Alwin Voetman

After 30 years of gathering knowledge and experience in the (bio-)pharmaceutical industry I joined Progress in 2004. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my working life and that is why I am still working at Progress today.

Progress has provided me with the tools and opportunities to further enhance my knowledge and experience, so I can help a great variety of customers meet their goals and solve their challenges. The assignments are diverse and vary not only in content and scope but also in complexity, which requires great flexibility. Working at different customers means working in changing environments with different people and cultures. This is what appeals to me working as a consultant for Progress. Never a dull moment.

I have been a Project Manager from start to end to design, build, and commission a pharmaceutical production plant, but I have also performed feasibility studies for new facilities, advised on aseptic processes and trained employees on aseptic handling and freeze drying. Also, as an interim Plant Manager, I’ve worked on consulting for CMC issues or writing and reviewing BLA sections. So too many projects to mention. And if you need some extra support on a new topic, you know you can rely on the extensive knowledge base of your Progress colleagues, who are always willing to help.

At Progress there are also many opportunities to contribute or develop yourself. For example, I have been a staff representative and confidant, but I have also organized various social events and worked for several years as director sales. You can act as a mentor or coach for other colleagues. I enjoy assisting and transferring knowledge to young professionals starting at Progress.

I approve and encourage that Progress is now focusing on cultural diversity and investing in young professionals. This is one of the ways Progress can continue to offer their high-quality and pragmatic services and help our customers and ultimately the patients.

I am proud to be a part of the Progress team. Together we will continue to strengthen and expand the team for the future.
