Life as a Progress consultant by
Kathinka van Hooren
Since working for Progress I have gotten opportunities to develop myself in ways I could never have foreseen. Progress always looks for clients that match your profile and this provides you with new challenges and experiences. Assignments can be really hands-on jobs, like support in the qualification of equipment, support in deviations, or batch release processes. However, assignments can also be advice on the implementation of new production processes, or setting up a quality system for a start-up company.
As a consultant for Progress my approach is very customer-oriented. Every product or service is custom made. You have use a pragmatic approach to develop and implement systems in compliance with current regulations and guidelines that (will) work for your specific client.
I started my job as a consultant for Progress with only 5 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. During the years that followed I got the opportunity to become familiar with different (work) cultures at various companies, and this brings different challenges to every job. In short, you get to experience positions you would not have the opportunity to try if you were not a consultant.
Progress is a very collaborative and social company where colleagues and management support each other. When you enter a new field of expertise there are always colleagues who will support you with their knowledge and experience. Also Progress supports you with training and education. Besides various soft skill trainings education is also provided. For example, I was fully supported to complete my QP education. Outside of work, Progress is more… They organise activities to help the environment by cleaning public areas, and social activities to get in touch with your colleagues in a different atmosphere.
To me Progress means opportunities. The opportunity to see different (kinds of) pharmaceutical environments, the opportunity to develop yourself through education and the opportunity to be part of a social, enthusiastic and knowledgeable team of Progressors.
