Eddy has been working at Progress since March 2017. After a Master in Biology (Leiden University) and a 2-year post-graduate program in Biotechnology (BODL), Eddy worked at the Upstream Process Development departments of Janssen Biologics (previously Centocor) and Janssen Prevention and Vaccines (previously Crucell). Here he performed roles of increasing complexity and responsibilities with the aim to develop, transfer and improve upstream manufacturing processes for monoclonal antibodies and vaccines. Eddy has worked in the PER.C6 launch facility focused on building a large scale facility suitable for vaccine manufacturing for clinical phase 3 and commercial launch. In this project he was responsible for purchasing, qualifying and implementing DSP and single-use equipment.
In his spare time Eddy (1979) likes to spend time with his wife Anneke, family and friends. He is an avid skier and ice-skater, and he likes to frequent the gym and cycle. At the top of his bucket list is skating the ‘Elfstedentocht’.
