Marco joined Progress-PME as a project manager in April 2013. After completing his studies in Bioprocess Technology at the University of Wageningen, Marco took a follow-up course (Tw-AIO) at the Technical University of Delft. After leaving university he started working at Solvay Pharmaceuticals with the influenza vaccine project, first as a bioprocess developer in the development section and later as a scientist. The work he enjoyed most concerned the validation of the production process in the tissue culture factory. After five years Marco went to Crucell, at first working on projects such as Tech Transfer and Rabies. It was not long before he was brought onto the Influenza project. In this international project he had many CMC tasks.
Marco loves going on holiday. “The more countries you’ve seen, the greater the travel bug”, he says. Marco also regularly goes into town for a coffee, a good meal or to see a film. He often goes to Portugal for a good meal – with his Portuguese wife. “Regular sports is essential for this!”, he says.
