Mark joined Progress-PME as project manager in September 2012.
Mark has more than 20 years’ experience within the bio-pharmaceutical industry. After completing his bachelor’s in chemistry in Leiden he started his career as a laboratory analyst at the former Gist-Brocades (now DSM-Gist). This is also where he had his first experience with validation. He then moved to former Centocor (now Janssen Biologics) as QC-Support engineer for validations on the QC-lab. In 2004 Mark became in team leader in the same company on the department of Vialed Product Testing. In 2007 Mark moved to SynCo BioPartners (now Wacker) as Head Technician involved in the development of the validation process within the QC department and responsible for the set-up of the stability process within the company. In 2009 Mark moved to the Sanquin Bloodbank as interim-head of QC responsible to increase efficiency and alignment with internal customers. After which Mark gained engineering experience as of 2010 within Vink Industries (now Kuipers PHF Services) as Quality Manager. During one of the projects as Quality Manager a connection was made with Progress-PME and in 2012 he made the transition to Progress-PME as Sr. Project Manager.
At Progress-PME Mark successfully completed several projects as HVAC lead, Process Lead, Validation Lead and interim Manager of a validation group with overall responsibility of validation within the company. In addition to the projects Mark has also been a member of the VCCN as of 2014 where he is part of a workgroup to develop a road map for operating rooms for the future.
Since March-2019 Mark is Director Operations at Progress-PME being the first line of communication for all consultants employed by and consultants linked to Progress-PME.
In his free time, Mark (1975) is busy with playing with his son (2014) and with another child on the way he has his hands full. Mark loves a good walk and travelling preferably by car from location to location to see Europe. He loves gardening and organising diners for friends and family.
