Mirjam joined Progress in January 2022. Mirjam has a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She began her career in the pharmaceutical industry in Belgium, as a QA Compliance Scientist at Alcon. After moving back to Amsterdam she worked at MSD Haarlem in different Quality roles, further developing her expertise in (GMP/GDP) quality systems and compliance. After MSD she worked for over 5 years as QA Manager – QP/RP at a small Dutch pharmaceutical company being overall responsible for Quality, with tasks including supplier and contractor management and maintaining and improving the Quality Management System. As the QP she was responsible for EU Certification and Batch Release of commercial products manufactured by non-EU CMOs. During this period she also performed GMP and GDP audits at a variety of companies and she was responsible for the successful implementation of a software system to ensure compliance with the EU FMD guidelines.
