René van Leeuwen

Managing Consultant

Expertise

René began his career as a biochemical analyst and product developer in the POO department of the CLB (now Sanquin) in Amsterdam. After studying in the evenings towards his chemical engineering HTS (higher technical education) degree, he became a process technologist in this department. In that capacity René was able to contribute to the restructuring of production at CLB. After completing his business studies, René became head of the department for semi-manufactured plasma products in CLB’s production department.

René is a Project Manager with extensive knowledge of development, engineering, validation, manufacturing, maintenance and business related aspects in the pharmaceutical industry. He is highly experienced and very determined to realise successful multidisciplinary projects or interim jobs with a technical, technological and business scope. He wants to deliver fully operational, optimised systems (continuous improvement; lean six sigma), installations and processes by finetuning logistics, eliminating constraints, and minimising operational expenses, with the voice of the customer in mind. René is currently a Senior Project Manager at Progress.

Besides his busy family life with his wife and children, René (1966) enjoys running in the dunes near Bloemendaal. In the summer he goes climbing in the Alps.
